Borgu Emirate Education Foundation Seeks for Extension of IBBUL's Part-Time Programs

The Borgu Emirate Education Foundation (BEEF) has requested Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai to extend its  Part-time Degree and Diploma programmes to the emirate.

The request came when members of the emirate's education foundation, led by its Chairman, Alhaji Adamu Aliyu Garafini visited the University Management at the main campus in Lapai.

Alhaji Aliyu Garafini who extended the warmth greetings of His Royal Highness, the Emir of Borgu Barrister Muhammad Sani Dantoro to the University Management said His Royal Highness is requesting the extension of  part-time  Degree and Diploma programmes to the Emirate for a more even development.

The Chairman reported the Emir to have said that if the request was granted, it would go a long way to reduce the hardship faced by his people, considering the present economic condition in the country and the distance between Lapai and Borgu.

Responding, the Vice Chancellor Professor Abu Kasim Adamu said that the two requests would be looked into with a view to giving them the desired attention, saying Borgu Emirate also deserved to be considered.

He applauded the crusade of the Emir in the  educational development of his domain and subjects. 

Professor Adamu noted that education being the bedrock of every society must not be taken for granted and efforts must be made to sustain the tempo.

The Vice Chancellor expressed gratitude to His Royal Highness for finding it expedient to send members of the Foundation to the University, stressing that it is a welcome development.

In a vote of thanks, the  Registrar, Alhaji Idris Saleh Kusherki thanked the Emir of Borgu for his support, especially on the security of the University property in his domain.

He explained that while some of the University Centres were affected by bush fire,  some were burgled by unpatriotic citizens but that of Borgu remains intact till date.

Highlight of the visit was presentation of the letter of request and  souvenirs.
