Borno IMAN Pays Courtesy Visit to University of Maiduguri Vice-Chancellor

The Borno State branch of the Islamic Medical Association of Nigeria (IMAN) paid a courtesy visit to Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Maiduguri, on November 13, 2025.

During the visit, Professor Mele commended IMAN for its philanthropic activities and community services in hospitals across the state and encouraged the association to extend its advocacy programs to university students. He reiterated the university's commitment to community service and assured IMAN of continued support in achieving shared objectives, particularly in the completion of the IMAN Hospital project, which is currently at an advanced stage of construction.

IMAN President, Professor Mohammed Modu Gofama Mustapha, briefed the Vice-Chancellor on the association's progress, noting that about 60% of the hospital construction has been completed, but financial constraints have hindered further work. He appealed for the university's support in completing the project. The visit concluded with the presentation of the hospital's construction plan and progress report to the Vice-Chancellor.
