Bright Senyo Gadzo, a former participant in the 2021 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) from Ketasco, has achieved a remarkable milestone by securing a scholarship to study at the prestigious California Institute of Technology (Caltech) in the United States. The scholarship, valued at $92,519 or GH¢1,110,000, was granted by the Ckodon Foundation, a non-profit organization.
Gadzo, in an emotional statement, expressed gratitude to the Ckodon Foundation for its pivotal role in helping him attain the scholarship. His journey reflects a tale of perseverance and resilience in the face of multiple rejections from various schools. Despite initial setbacks and disheartening rejection letters, Gadzo's determination remained unshaken.

However, a COVID-induced hiatus provided an opportunity for a deeper dive into studies, resulting in his eventual inclusion in the NSMQ team.

The college application process brought its share of disappointments, with rejections from several schools. However, Caltech emerged as a beacon of hope, and Gadzo expressed his disbelief and gratitude upon receiving the congratulatory letter.
He plans to pursue a four-year bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering at Caltech, with aspirations to return to Ghana and contribute to the power sector while assisting financially challenged students in the application process.
