Skylar expressed her emotions, saying, "I knew that since my mother had missed a lot of things with me in my childhood, growing up, and since this was mobile, I could take my computer to open the email anywhere, I knew I wanted to do it with her. I thought whether I get accepted or denied, I wanted to share this moment with her because I knew it would be filled with emotion."
Her path to this achievement was marked by incredible hard work and perseverance. Skylar not only excelled academically, taking Advanced Placement courses at Grayson High School, but she also took on the responsibility of two jobs. Her dedication to community service was remarkable, dedicating over 200 hours to local activism.
She actively participated in initiatives such as the DoSomething Club, which focuses on mental health awareness, and volunteered her time with the Black Lives Matter movement and the Marine Conservation Club. All her sacrifices and hard work culminated in this pivotal moment, and Skylar expressed her immense pride and happiness at her achievement.
