Under the visionary leadership of Prof. Lawal Umar from the Department of Community Medicine, the Center will be spearheaded by his appointment as Director. Joining him are Dr. Rabi'u Ibrahim Jalo and Dr. Abdullahi Balarabe Inuwa, appointed as Deputy Director Research & Publication and Deputy Training & Outreach, respectively. The genesis of this milestone dates back to May 2023 when the Kano state government erected and generously donated a building complex to the university for the explicit purpose of establishing this center. During the official commissioning and handover ceremony on May 24, 2023, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the former governor of Kano state, lauded the university's commitment to conducting groundbreaking research that enriches society.
