CDA Seeks Collaboration with Indian High Commission on Research, Innovation
The Centre for Dry Land Agriculture(CDA), Bayero University, Kano has initiated a collaborative engagement with the Indian High Commission in Nigeria on research and innovation especially which would assist drastically in the take-off of the Centre's Research, Innovation and Technology Hub (RITEH).

The Deputy Director, Outreach and Publications of CDA, Professor Amina Mustapha, and Coordinator of Training, Dr Murtala Muhammad Badamasi, visited the Indian High Commission recently and emphasized on the importance of collaboration between the two parties in the area of capacity building, promotion of research and innovation, as well as grants management.
The second Indian Ambassador, Mr. Pranay Sinha, who received team the expressed happiness with the Centre's vision to empower the youth and women with the necessary skills that will promote innovation with aim of addressing unemployment and creating wealth.
He said the Indian High Commission would partner with the CDA in this regard and would assist the Centre to get some grants that would boost innovative ideas among the Nigerian youth and women.
The Indian envoy was also pleased with the level of relationship between the CDA and ICRISAT, India, saying that the High Commission would do everything possible to assist in strengthening these relationship specially as the two institutions try to address the developmental challenges in the dryland areas.

In view of the above, the CDAorganized a 5-day writeshop from October 16th to 20th, 2023 in collaboration with the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT). The objective was to establish a Regional Innovation, Teaching, and Entrepreneurship Hub (RITEH) at CDA, designed to provide comprehensive training in processin echnologies,product development techniques,
infrastructure facilities and entrepreneurial skills to a diverse range of stakeholders, including students, aspiring entrepreneurs, rural youth and women across Nigeria.The establishment of the Regional Innovation, Teaching, and Entrepreneurship Hub (RITEH) at Bayero University is set to become a transformative force in the agricultural land scape of Nigeria, fostering innovation, entrepreneurship and sustainable agricultural practices, while engaging a diverse range of stakeholders. This collaborative endeavor signifies a significant step towards addressing pressing agricultura challenges and strengthening regional capacities in West and Central Africa.
