Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Inducts 142 Graduates into Pharmaceutical Society

In a remarkable ceremony, the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University's Igbariam Campus in Anambra State has inducted 142 graduates into the esteemed Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN).
The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Greg Nwakoby, in his opening remarks, expressed gratitude to the state government for their crucial support in establishing the university and its Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences. He recounted the challenges faced upon assuming office and detailed how they were successfully addressed, highlighting the faculty's impressive journey.

The Vice-Chancellor acknowledged the invaluable contributions of Igwe Alex Onyido of Ogidi and Dr. Ifeanyi Okoye of Juhel Nigeria Limited, who generously donated new buildings to the institution, equipped the e-library and laboratory, and facilitated the faculty's accreditation.

Under the theme "Welcome to a World of Opportunities and Possibilities," the keynote speaker, Dr. Ikem Odumodu, highlighted the abundant career prospects and opportunities offered by the pharmacy profession. He encouraged the inductees to be proactive in creating opportunities for themselves rather than waiting for them to appear.

Dr. Okoye of Juhel Nigeria Limited, the Chairman of the occasion, referred to the pharmacy profession as both enticing and potentially transformative, advising the graduates to adhere to the rules and guidelines of the profession.
Pharm. Ibrahim Ahmed, Registrar of the Pharmaceutical Council of Nigeria, acknowledged the hard work and dedication of the inductees as they reached this significant milestone. He reminded them to maintain high ethical standards as they fulfill other council requirements, including the one-year internship training. Pharm. Ahmed also encouraged continuous self-improvement and the acquisition of life-saving skills.

Pharmacist Cynthia Obikeze, the Best Graduating Student, shared her gratitude for the contributions that led her and her fellow graduates to this point. She offered advice to aspiring pharmacy students, emphasizing the importance of setting and focusing on achievable goals.
The ceremony, held at the university's auditorium, witnessed the presence of graduates' parents, guardians, friends, family members, well-wishers, members of PSN from within and outside Anambra State, and traditional rulers.
