In a proactive move to address student housing needs, the Provost of the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan (CoMUI), Professor T. O. Ogundiran, FAS, led a high-level delegation to inspect the ongoing students’ hostel construction site at the University College Hospital (UCH) on Monday, 9 February 2026.

The inspection served as a critical oversight visit by the College Executive Committee to evaluate the progress of the multi-million naira infrastructure project, which is central to the administration’s commitment to enhancing the student experience.

Accompanied by key members of the College Executive Committee, Professor Ogundiran emphasized that the project is a cornerstone of the leadership's strategy to improve student welfare. By providing modern, secure, and accessible housing within the hospital axis, the College aims to alleviate the logistical challenges faced by medical and dental students during their clinical rotations.

"This visit reinforces our commitment to strengthening the academic environment through strategic infrastructure," a statement from the College noted. "Our goal is to ensure that students have a conducive living space that supports the rigorous demands of medical training."
