The third edition of the Sokoto Book and Arts Festival, Sobafest23 with the theme, "Roots and Routes" has come to an end with the Night of performance held on 19th of Novermber, 2023 at the Playground of Forth International School, Sokoto.

The third edition of the Sokoto Book and Arts Festival, Sobafest23 with the theme, "Roots and Routes" has come to an end with the Night of performance held on 19th of Novermber, 2023 at the Playground of Forth International School, Sokoto.

During the event which features several Spoken Word poetry Performances from poets within the State, the top three Winners at the Slam for the year were gifted their promised cash prices, #50,000, #20,000 and #10,000 respectively.

The Night saw another Danfodite, Oloyede Oluwashina, a 400lv student from the Department of Political Science Usmanu Danfodiyo University been the winner of the Slam held at the University auditorium, on 18th, Novermber, 2023 got honoured as the incumbent Slam Sultan of the festival.

Recalled that, Majeed Bn Saleh, the 2022 winner of the said Prize was still studying in the faculty of Agriculture when he contested and won the prize at the 2nd edition of the festival which was held inside the International Conference Centre, Kasarawa. 

Interestingly, Hussein Abdulbasit Adedeji, also known as Penguin, a final year student of the Department of Political Science Usmanu Danfodio University, Sokoto won the poetry Slam at the maiden edition of the festival in ,2021.

Sokoto Book and Arts Festival is organised by Sokoto Book and Arts Foundation, an initiative by three sisters literary platforms in the State, including, Book O'Clock , Caliphate Arts and Literary Forum and the Poetry Club of UDUS.

The prize is opened to Creative in Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara and in other parts of the Country with intention to travel over.
