Deputy Bursar of NOUN Elected ICAN Chairman in Kaduna

Dr. (Mrs.) Mary Aimuyedo Temitope, a Deputy Bursar at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), has been elected as the Chairman of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Kaduna State Chapter.

Temitope, who also serves as the Head of Accounts at the Centre for Human Resource Development (CHRD) in Kaduna, was praised by former Kaduna State Governor, Senator Ahmad Muhammad Makarfi, during her investiture as the 23rd Chairman of ICAN Kaduna District and Society. Makarfi, who is a member of the institute, described Temitope as a "workaholic and a goal-getter," highlighting her election as evidence of the increasing prominence of women in leadership roles across various sectors in Nigeria. He noted that this trend is gradually breaking down traditional gender barriers and fostering success.

As the 23rd Chairman of ICAN Kaduna District and Society for the 2024/2025 term, Temitope pledged to serve with humility and responsiveness. She called for the support and cooperation of all members, urging them to be guided by good conscience and to embrace the theme "Unity in Diversity."

Temitope also emphasized her commitment to drawing inspiration from the 22 past chairmen who have served the institute with distinction.
