Dr. Anyadiegwu Launches Tree Planting Initiative at Nwafor Orizu College of Education

Dr. Justina Anyadiegwu, Provost of Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe, launched a tree planting initiative in support of Anambra State Governor Professor Chukwuma Soludo’s environmental program. The college has planted over 180 palm trees to enhance sustainability and combat environmental issues.

Dr. Justina Anyadiegwu, Provost of Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe (NOCEN), recently launched a tree planting exercise at the institution, aligning with the Economic Planting Programme endorsed by Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo.

Joined by her management team, Dr. Anyadiegwu initiated the program aimed at promoting environmental sustainability. The College's Chairman for the Tree Planting and Environmental Management Committee, Dr. Chidi Arubalueze, highlighted the importance of trees in ensuring an eco-friendly environment, alleviating poverty, and mitigating climate change. He noted that over 180 palm trees have been planted as part of the initiative.

Dr. Anyadiegwu underscored the significance of tree planting in combating wind erosion, pollution, and biodiversity loss while enhancing ecosystem stability. She also emphasized the role of trees in beautifying the college and fostering a healthier lifestyle.

In her remarks, Dr. Anyadiegwu expressed appreciation for Governor Soludo's support and reiterated the College’s commitment to environmental sustainability and ecosystem preservation.

The ceremony included a symbolic planting of palm trees by Dr. Anyadiegwu, her management team, and Dr. Arubalueze, contributing to the Governor's Clean, Green, and Sustainable Environment Initiative for Anambra State.
