Mrs. Nonye Soludo expands her Healthy Living Initiative Programme to Primary and Secondary Schools in Anambra, aiming to instill healthy living practices among children and teenagers.
Mrs. Nonye Soludo, the wife of the Anambra Governor, has expanded her Healthy Living Initiative Programme to Primary and Secondary Schools in the state, aiming to instill the basics of healthy living among school children, teenagers, and youths.
Inaugurating Healthy Living clubs in over 325 primary schools across the 21 local government areas of the State, Mrs. Soludo emphasized the importance of early exposure to healthy living practices. She also appointed headteachers as Healthy Living Champions and selected teachers with expertise in Physical Health Education to lead the Healthy Living clubs as ambassadors.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony held at the headquarters of Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB) in Awka, Mrs. Soludo expressed her passion for the initiative, emphasizing its goal of fostering a culture of health consciousness and promoting positive mindset changes.
She announced the launch of the Healthy Living Garden Competition, a termly challenge aimed at encouraging agriculture, self-sufficiency, and hard work among primary and secondary school students.

Dr. Vera Nkiru Nwadinobi, the Executive Chairman of ASUBEB, commended Mrs. Soludo for her leadership in championing the initiative, highlighting its potential to equip children with essential life skills and contribute to societal welfare and development.

Dr. Afam Obidike, the State Commissioner for Health, praised Mrs. Soludo for grooming a generation of young people conscious of their lifestyles through the Healthy Living initiative.
The event also saw the distribution of 330 fully-equipped first aid kits to various schools whose teachers were selected as ambassadors. Notable officials present included the State Commissioner for Environment, Engineer Felix Odimegwu, and the Commissioner for Industry, Mr. Christian Udechuwku.
