Ekiti Schools, Courts, and Ministries Shut Down as NLC Strike Begins

Government activities in Ekiti state were paralyzed on Monday, June 4, as workers adhered to the nationwide strike called by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC). Ministries, parastatals, and public institutions were largely deserted.

At the state secretariat along Bank Road in Ado-Ekiti, the High Court, and public schools, gates were locked and facilities were empty. While a few workers reported to duty on special arrangements, such as at the State House of Assembly for a one-year celebration in office, the majority stayed away.
