In a significant display of communal support and commitment to education, the residents of Obe and Umueze autonomous communities in Nkanu West local government area of Enugu State have graciously donated an additional 30 plots of land for the expansion of the main campus of the Enugu University of Science and Technology (ESUT). This benevolent gesture aims to accommodate the university's ambitious project to establish nursery, primary, and secondary schools.
The formal handover of the land to the university was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the community leaders and ESUT officials at the university's main campus in Agbani. This move underscores the deepening partnership between the university and the host communities.

Speaking on behalf of Obe Community, HRH Igwe Stephen Nweke, the traditional ruler, emphasized the newfound synergy between the communities and ESUT, attributing it to the exemplary leadership of ESUT's Vice Chancellor, Prof. Alloysius Michaels-Okolie. He expressed gratitude for the developmental strides witnessed under Governor Peter Mbah's administration, affirming the communities' commitment to safeguarding the university's interests.
