Receiving the materials on March 18, 2026, at the University’s Owa Alero Campus, the Vice-Chancellor, Stella Chinye Chiemeke—represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Patrick Ijeh—called for deeper collaboration between universities and professional bodies to sustain the pipeline of skilled practitioners required for national development.
She described the donation as a strategic investment in human capital development, noting that partnerships of this nature are critical to enhancing the quality of professional education and ensuring that graduates are industry-ready. The University also acknowledged the role of key institutional and private sector stakeholders, including the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, and Zenith Bank, in supporting its growth trajectory.
According to the University, the materials will be deployed to strengthen academic resources within the Department of Estate Management, with assurances that they will be effectively utilised to improve teaching, research, and professional development outcomes.

In a communication accompanying the donation, the Registrar of the Board, Janeth Shehu, stated that the intervention followed a formal request by the University. She disclosed that the consignment comprises 103 textbooks and journals across 34 titles, covering core areas within the estate surveying and valuation discipline.
The Board noted that the initiative aligns with its mandate to support the training, certification, and continuous professional development of future practitioners, while also strengthening academic institutions responsible for delivering foundational knowledge in the sector.
The handover ceremony was attended by senior academic officials, including the Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Sciences, Osa Egonwa, and the Head of the Department of Estate Management, David Mbazor, who both reaffirmed the University’s commitment to maximising the impact of the donated resources.
