EWAN Set for 2023 National Education Summit

The Education Writers’ Association of Nigeria (EWAN) is gearing up for its annual Education Summit. This year’s event, which marks the fourth edition, is themed “Research for National Development: Nigeria’s Internal Security in Focus.” The summit is scheduled to take place on December 19th at the Radisson Blu Ikeja Lagos.

Prof Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, Chairman of the Lagos State Research and Innovation Council and former Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), will deliver the keynote address. The summit will be chaired by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, with the Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman, serving as the chief host.

The event will feature a session moderated by veteran broadcaster, Mrs. Bimbo Oloyede. Discussants will be led by UBEC Executive Secretary and former Director of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Centre for Research and Historical Documentation (Arewa House), Dr. Hamid Bobboyi.

The summit will also host panel discussions on various sub-themes, including “Financial Security and Future of Banking in Nigeria: What Needs from Researchers?” The lead paper discussant for this session will be Oliver Alawuba, Group MD/CEO of United Bank for Africa (UBA).

Another session titled “Food Security, Health Safety, and Environmental Sustainability: What Nexus? – Researchers’ Perspectives,” will be chaired by the Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Lagos state, Hon. Tokunbo Wahab. The lead discussant for this session will be Prof. Taibat Lawanson.
