Federal Government to Meet with SSANU and NASU Over Withheld Salaries Strike

The Federal Government is scheduled to hold a meeting with the leadership of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Universities and Allied Institutions (NASU) today, Wednesday.

Muhammed Ibrahim, the National President of SSANU, confirmed the meeting, stating that they were invited by the government for discussions regarding the ongoing strike.

While the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) saw the release of their withheld salaries by the current administration, SSANU and NASU members were left out, prompting their displeasure.

Despite repeated demands made to the government to release their salaries, SSANU and NASU were ignored, leading to the initiation of the strike action.The strike, which began on Monday, has disrupted academic activities across university campuses nationwide.
