Federal Polytechnic Bauchi Outlines 15 Examination Ethics for Students
The Federal Polytechnic Bauchi has outlined 15 essential examination guidelines to maintain academic integrity and a smooth exam process. Key points include students being required to arrive at least 30 minutes before the exam, bringing their own materials, and not borrowing from others unless authorized by an invigilator.
In a bid to ensure academic integrity and a smooth examination process, the Federal Polytechnic Bauchi has highlighted key guidelines that all students must adhere to during examinations, as detailed in its Students Handbook.
The 15 ethical guidelines cover various aspects of examination conduct, from punctuality to identification and the handling of personal materials within the examination hall.
Key Examination Guidelines:
-
Punctuality is Key: Students are required to be in the examination room at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start time. Late arrivals will not be granted extra time beyond the scheduled duration of the examination.
-
Personal Responsibility: Students must bring their own pens, pencils, calculators, rulers, and other necessary materials. Borrowing from fellow students is strictly prohibited unless authorized by the invigilator.
-
Latecomers and Entry Restrictions: Students who arrive more than 30 minutes after the start of the examination may be allowed entry at the invigilator’s discretion but will not receive additional time.
-
No Personal Bags or Briefcases: Bags, briefcases, and other personal items are not permitted in or near the examination hall, ensuring that no unauthorized materials are brought in.
-
Leaving the Examination Hall: Students are not allowed to leave the hall until at least 30 minutes into the examination, and they cannot exit within 15 minutes of the exam's conclusion. Any student leaving the hall must submit their examination script before departure.
-
Identification and Examination Card: Students must present both their identity and examination cards upon request by an invigilator. Failure to provide these may result in being denied entry to the examination hall, unless verified by the head of department.
-
Attendance: Each student must sign the attendance sheet to confirm their participation in the exam.
-
Health-related Issues: Students who fall ill before or during the examination and are unable to complete the paper under normal conditions are advised to request a conversion of the paper to course arrears.
-
Examination Eligibility: Students whose names are not listed on the internal examiners list will not be permitted to write the examination.
These measures are designed to uphold the integrity of the institution's examination system, promoting fairness and equal opportunity for all students. The Federal Polytechnic Bauchi is committed to ensuring a secure and orderly environment during examination periods.
Students are urged to familiarize themselves with these guidelines to avoid any inconvenience and ensure a successful examination experience.
