Federal Polytechnic Monguno Holds Second Matriculation Ceremony, Welcomes 324 New Students
On Wednesday, 14th May 2025, the Federal Polytechnic Monguno, Borno State celebrated a major milestone by holding its second matriculation ceremony, formally welcoming 324 newly admitted students into the institution.
Held at the Polytechnic’s temporary site in Monguno town, the event drew dignitaries from diverse sectors. Among those in attendance were the Deputy Rector, Musa Mohammed Grandawa (representing the Rector, Engr. Prof. Garba M. Ngala FNSE, FNIMechE), the Registrar, Adamu Alhaji Usman, Other Principal Officers, Chairman of Monguno Local Government Council, Directors, Heads of Departments, Security Personnel, Traditional/Religious Leaders and Well-wishers.

In a speech delivered on behalf of the Rector, the Deputy Rector congratulated the new students on their successful admission. He encouraged them to recognize the privilege of joining the institution at this pivotal time, urging them to remain focused, disciplined, and committed to academic excellence. He also emphasized the importance of upholding the values of character, innovation, and service to humanity.
The Rector extended heartfelt appreciation to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Borno State, Engr. Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, mni, FNSE, CON, for his unwavering support towards the development of the Polytechnic.
He also acknowledged the vital contributions of the security agencies especially the Nigerian Army for their role in maintaining a safe and conducive environment for learning and administration.
The Registrar, Adamu Alhaji Usman, administered the matriculation oath, which was recited in unison by the new students as a formal pledge to uphold the institution’s ideals, rules, and responsibilities.
Community leaders present at the event praised the Rector’s visionary and transparent leadership. They highlighted his dedication and proactive engagement with stakeholders as key drivers of the Polytechnic’s rapid development.
