The equipment and kits delivered include stethoscopes, blood pressure machines, thermometers, weighing scales, Accu-Chek glucometers, Accu-Chek strips, cholesterol machines and strips, malaria and typhoid test kits, as well as Hepatitis B and C test kits.

Speaking during the presentation, Dr. Awuzie noted that she had received numerous calls and messages from staff and students regarding the shortage of essential drugs at the centre. She expressed concern that some staff who registered the Polytechnic’s Medical Centre under the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) may have been denied full benefits due to the shortages.

“Management deemed it necessary to procure these drugs and medical equipment as earlier requested by the Acting Director of Medical Services,” she explained. “I therefore implore all staff, students, and even members of the surrounding community to visit the Medical Centre. We are now more determined to support healthcare systems, address humanitarian needs, and improve patient welfare. Our health centre is now equipped to take care of your health.”
