Federal University Dutsin-Ma SUG President Issues Important Notice to Off-Campus Students
He warned that six-month leases could expose students to sudden rent hikes, potential eviction, and exploitation by unscrupulous landlords who might take advantage of their limited options
The Student Union Government (SUG) of Federal University Dutsin-Ma has issued a crucial advisory to students, particularly those residing off-campus within the Dutsin-Ma metropolis. In a statement released by the SUG President, Comrade Abdulkarim Sani Isah, students are strongly advised to avoid signing six-month rental agreements and instead opt for a full calendar year lease when securing accommodation.
Comrade Isah emphasized that opting for a year-long lease provides greater security and financial stability for students. He warned that six-month leases could expose students to sudden rent hikes, potential eviction, and exploitation by unscrupulous landlords who might take advantage of their limited options.
The SUG President also cautioned that students who fail to comply with this advice may face legal consequences from the school management. He reassured students that the union is working closely with local authorities and landlords to improve security in student-populated areas and establish fair rental practices.
Comrade Isah concluded by urging students to make informed decisions regarding their accommodation and to reach out to the SUG office if they encounter any challenges.
