Federal University of Lafia Announces Vacancies for University Librarian and Bursar

The Management of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Nasarawa State, has officially declared the positions of University Librarian and Bursar vacant. The institution is inviting applications from qualified and visionary professionals to fill these key principal officer roles.

According to a formal advertisement issued by the Office of the Registrar, the vacancy for the University Librarian will take effect on July 2, 2026, while the position of Bursar will become vacant on May 5, 2026.

The University Librarian serves as a Principal Officer responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the administration of the university library system.

Applicants must possess a Ph.D. in Library and Information Science with at least 15 years of relevant experience.

Candidates must be registered members of the Librarians Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN) and have attained the rank of Deputy University Librarian or Professor of Library Science.

Must not be above 60 years of age by July 2, 2026.

As the Chief Financial Officer, the Bursar is responsible for the day-to-day financial administration and control of the university.

Candidates must hold a good honors degree in Accounting and be a member of a recognized professional body such as ICAN or ANAN.

A minimum of 15 years of post-qualification experience is required, with at least 10 years in a university setting. Applicants must have attained the rank of Senior Deputy Bursar or Deputy Bursar.

Age Limit: Must not be above 60 years of age by May 5, 2026.
