Federal University of Technology, Babura May Take off Soon – VC

The Federal University of Technology, Babura may soon take off after securing approval to admit students in 13 programmes, Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Sabo Ibrahim Birnin Kudu, has said. 


Speaking on  during a courtesy visit on the Vice Chancellor of BUK, Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas, the FUT Vice Chancellor said members of his team were in BUK to officially introduce themselves as Principal Officers of the newly established university and to appreciate the kind gesture
done to them by the management of Bayero University,Kano.

He stated that the new university would operate as school based institutions with 8 departments in two schools: School of Science and ICT and School of Engineering and Technology, having satisfied the requirement of the Nigerian Universities laws through accreditation by National Universities Commission(NUC).

Prof. Birnin Kudu said the University was among the six newly created universities by the Federal Government located in six geopolitical zones with the mission of adding value to the technological advancement sector of the nation.

He said any serious country has to improve and strengthen its Science and Technology sector as the world is rapidly advancing within the sector thereby setting up ICTknowledge driven economy.

Responding, the Vice Chancellor Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas, advised the management of FUT to set up policies that would guide the operation of the University so as to lay a solid foundation that would give positive direction in its operations.

He said any organization that did not have well defined policies might not succeed in operating the organization.


Prof. Abbas congratulated the University on having Hajiya Fatima Binta Mohammed, as the Registrar owing to her administrative experience, expressing optimism
that if the Principal Officers worked hand in hand, the University might overtake its counterparts.
