FEDPOFFA Gets NBTE Approval to Commence Open, Distance FlexibleE-learning (ODFeL)

The Management of the Federal Polytechnic Offa led by Engr. Dr. Kadiri Kamoru Oluwatoyin FNSE has received the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE)'s approval to commence Open and Distance  Flexiblee-learning (ODFeL) programme in the Polytechnic.

This follows a successful Resource Verification and Train the Trainers exercises recently conducted in the Polytechnic by NBTE personnel.

The approval was conveyed in a letter to the Rector dated 28th December 2023 and signed by the Executive Secretary of NBTE, Prof. Idris M. Bugaje.

The letter reads in part, “I am writing to officially convey our response to your expressionof interest in Open and Distance Flexible e-Learning (ODFeL) andthe subsequent Audit Inspection conducted by our team at yourinstitution.

"I am pleased to inform you that, following a thorough evaluation,your institution has been granted interim approval to commencethe ODFeL programme. This approval is subject to compliance withthe National TVET Policy and Strategy governing ODFeL."

With the NBTE’s approval which specifically covers various accredited

programmes, the Polytechnic is set to offer Open and Distance Learning Programmes in  Business Administration, Accountancy, Computer Science, Mass Communication, Public Administration, Science Laboratory Technology Library Information Science, Quantity Survey, Marketing, Building Technology, Agricultural Technology, Estate Managementand Procurement and Supply Management Chain.

In his reaction, the Rector, Engr. Dr. Kadiri appreciated NBTE for the approval. He said the programme will provide convenience, and equal educational opportunities, especially for individuals facing challenges attending conventional schools due to financial constraints, time limitations, or geographical locations.

While emphasizing that expanding academic programs and providing equal opportunities for quality education remains one of his top priorities, he congratulated the entire Polytechnic community on the new feat attained and urged staff members for continuous dedication and commitment to duty.
