The Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Offa, Engr. Dr. Kadiri Kamoru Oluwatoyin FNSE has led the management team on a courtesy visit to meet the Kwara South Senator, Arc. Yisa Lola Ashiru at his residence in Offa, Kwara State.
The premise of the meeting was centered on the management's request for the senator's support to enhance the polytechnic's infrastructural growth and development.
In his address, the Rector congratulated Senator Ashiru for his new attainment as Deputy Senate Majority Leader, commended his good representation and vocational centers projects across Kwara South.
Speaking on the premise of the courtesy visit, Engr. Dr. Kadiri urged distinguished Senator to use his good office to assist in facilitating notable projects to the Polytechnic. The Rector solicited for the Senator's intervention on road network, hostel facilities, transportation, and infrastructural developments.
The Rector equally hinted the lawmaker on the level of massive encroachment on the Polytechnic's land and intermittent invasion of ranchers on campus. He pleaded with the Senator to extend his good office to interfere amicably into the pervasive land encroachment in the Polytechnic.
Also speaking, the Polytechnic Registrar, Mr. Gabriel Soko appreciated the Senator for his warm reception of the management team. He acknowledged the efforts of the Senator on the bill sponsored during the 9th Assembly to upgrade the Polytechnic to a Degree Awarding Institution.
While highlighting some giant strides of the Rector since assumption of office, he appealed to the Senator to consider the plights of the management on the noted areas highlighted for intervention.
The Senator, who is also a fellow of the Polytechnic, in his reaction, applauded the management team and tagged the institution the highest citadel situated at his constituency, he stressed that, the Polytechnic has made a tremendous impact on the landscape of Kwara State.
He assured to give all necessary support and assistance to facilitate the needed projects the institution is seeking for.
The Senator who promised to visit the institution for on the spot assessment of the infrastructure seeks for collaboration with the Polytechnic to coordinate and put into usage the vocational centers in Kwara South through the skills development center of the institution.
Subsequently, the Rector assured the lawmaker of the Polytechnic's readiness to partner in the coordination of the Vocational center and give total support in the areas where needed.
Other Principal Officers present include: the Deputy Rector Administration, Dr. Salmon Ishaq, Deputy Rector Academics, Dr. Mrs. Mulikat Bolajoko Aliyu, the Polytechnic Librarian, Dr. Femi Rasaq Quadri, the Bursar, Mr. Azeez Amidu among others.
