FG Commends NOUN for Excellence in Open and Distance Learning

The Federal Government has commended the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) for its outstanding contributions to Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and its commitment to hosting the International Media and Information Literacy Institute (IMILI).

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, made the commendation during a courtesy visit by the NOUN Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olufemi Peters, and his team in Abuja.

IMILI is set for certification at the UNESCO General Conference in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, in November 2025. The Federal Government has pledged to work with NOUN, UNESCO, and the Federal Ministry of Education to ensure Nigeria's successful ratification and recognition of IMILI.
