Former Vice-Chancellor of Federal University Kashere, Prof. Alhassan Muhammad Gani, Passes Away

Prof. Alhassan Muhammad Gani, a renowned Nigerian academic and former Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Kashere, Gombe State, has passed away in the early hours of Sunday, July 27, 2025.

The news of his demise was received with shock by the management of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Bauchi, where he was a faculty member in the Department of Biological Sciences.

Prof. Gani was born in 1959 in Delgi, Plateau State. He obtained his Bachelor's degree in Botany from the University of Jos and went on to earn his Master's degree in Applied Plant Science from the University of London. He later earned his Doctoral degree in Plant Physiology from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University .

As Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Kashere, Prof. Gani made significant contributions to the development of the institution, particularly in the areas of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and infrastructure development. He was known for his leadership skills and ability to drive innovation and progress.

The academic community is mourning the loss of Prof. Gani, who was widely respected for his dedication to education and his commitment to excellence. May Allah be pleased with his soul, Ameen.
