The Governing Council of the Federal University of Lafia has approved the appointment of Mr Ovye James Aboki as the substantive Bursar of the institution, alongside Prof. Abdulrazaq Baba Abdulrahman as the new University Librarian.

The Governing Council of the Federal University of Lafia has approved the appointment of Mr Ovye James Aboki as the substantive Bursar of the institution, alongside Prof. Abdulrazaq Baba Abdulrahman as the new University Librarian.

The appointments were confirmed during the Council’s 12th Extra-Ordinary Meeting held at the Council Chamber of the university’s Permanent Site Campus.

According to the Council, Mr Aboki’s appointment as Bursar takes effect from May 14, 2026, for a single five-year tenure, while Prof. Abdulrahman is expected to assume office as University Librarian on July 3, 2026, also for a five-year term.

The meeting was presided over by the Chairman of the Governing Council, Lola Fibisola Akande, who was represented at the session by Dr Amos Gizo.

The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Mohammed Isa Kida, alongside representatives of the Federal Character Commission, the Federal Ministry of Education, members of the Governing Council, Senate representatives, and members of the university community, were present at the meeting.

Stakeholders at the session expressed satisfaction with the appointment process and commended the Council for conducting a transparent and merit-driven exercise.

They also extended best wishes to the newly appointed officers, expressing confidence that they would contribute meaningfully to the administrative and academic development of the institution.
