The Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) has extended the tenures of its Bursar, Dr. Daniel Anjola Wilson, and Librarian, Prof. Abiodun Olaide Iyoro, for one year each to ensure continuity and strategic advancement.
The Governing Council of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) has approved a one-year extension of the tenures of its Bursar, Dr. Daniel Anjola Wilson, and University Librarian, Professor Abiodun Olaide Iyoro. This decision was taken during the council's 6th Extraordinary Meeting and aligns with Section 5, Subsection 5 of the Universities (Miscellaneous Provision) (Amendment) Act, 2012.
The Registrar of FULafia, Malam Nuradeen Abdu, issued a statement highlighting the reasons behind the extensions. For Dr. Wilson, the extension was deemed essential for maintaining continuity in financial and administrative operations, overseeing the completion of automation and digitisation processes, and ensuring a smooth adaptation period for the newly formed Governing Council. His tenure, initially set to conclude on May 5, 2025, will now end on May 4, 2026. Dr. Wilson has been praised for strengthening FULafia's financial framework and promoting fiscal responsibility.
Professor Iyoro’s extension was similarly approved to ensure a seamless academic administration and completion of key projects such as the development of an e-resource library for faculties. The statement commended Iyoro's contributions, which include securing full accreditation for 98% of the University's programmes and advancing e-library resources. His tenure, initially ending on July 2, 2025, will now be extended to July 1, 2026.
Both extensions reflect the Governing Council's commitment to leveraging experienced leadership for FULafia’s ongoing growth and strategic achievements.
