The Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) recently hosted the 65th Regular Meeting of the Committee of Provosts and Deans of Postgraduate Colleges and Schools (CPDPGCS).

The meeting's theme was "Artificial Intelligence and Postgraduate Research in Nigerian Universities."

FULafia's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, emphasized the importance of embracing artificial intelligence in research and knowledge sharing to remain globally competitive. He highlighted the university's commitment to integrity, innovation, and excellence, and its rising influence in Nigeria's academic landscape.

The meeting featured keynote speakers from prominent institutions, including Professor Abiodun Musa Aibinu and Dr. Ridan Kanya. A parallel workshop for deputy provosts and deans of postgraduate studies focused on innovation, research integrity, and modern technology integration in postgraduate training.

The CPDPGCS Chairman, Professor Varun Tarhule, reiterated the committee's mission to strengthen postgraduate education and address contemporary challenges, including AI implications and funding limitations. The meeting provided a platform for networking, idea exchange, and shaping postgraduate education in Nigeria.
