FULafia Students' Representative Council Donates Solar-Powered Street Lights to Communities

The Students' Representative Council (SRC) of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) has donated 45 solar-powered security lights to communities surrounding the university.

 

The donation, aimed at enhancing security in the areas, was unveiled at the Take-Off Site Campus of the university. The event was attended by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, represented by the Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Abdulrazaq Baba Abdulrahman.

Professor Abdulrahman commended the SRC for their initiative, stating that the donation would have a positive impact on the lives of students and inhabitants of the benefiting communities. He emphasized the importance of securing the environments where students and staff live and encouraged students to take responsibility for their surroundings.

The SRC President, Comrade Salisu Abdullahi Maiyaki, explained that the initiative was part of his administration's commitment to promote safety and security of lives and properties of students living off-campus.

 

The solar-powered street lights will be installed in strategic locations, including Mararraba, Akunza, Bukan Kwato, Gandu, and around the Paradise Hotel. The donation is expected to improve security and contribute to a safer living environment for students and residents.
