FULafia to collaborate with MWFAAN on AgricTech Hackathon
The Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) is set to partner with the Mandela Washington Fellowship Alumni Association of Nigeria (MWFAAN) in the areas of agricultural technology and innovation.

This arrangement was made known when the Vice-Chancellor of FULafia, Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman, when he received a delegation of the MWFAAN in his office, at Lafia, recently.
Represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Research and Partnerships, Prof. Samaila Usman Dakyes, the vice-chancellor said that the Management of FULafia was ready to collaborate with the MWFAAN.

Describing the association as a group of well accomplished individuals, Abdul Rahman listed areas of collaboration between the two institutions to include mentoring of students, entrepreneurial development, especially in agricultural technology and innovation.
The Fellowship Alumni Association of Nigeria (MWFAAN), established in 2014, is a non-profit organisation comprising over 500 distinguished young Nigerians who have successfully completed the Mandela Washington Fellowship programme.
MWFAAN is supported by the U.S Embassy in Abuja, the U.S Consulate in Lagos, the U.S Government's Young African Leaders Initiative, affiliated with the U.S Department of State in Washington DC.
Earlier, the President of the MWFAAN, Farida Yahaya, said that they were in the vice-chancellor's office to seek partnership on their upcoming programme in Nasarawa State titled: The AgricTech Hackathon.

Farida Yahaya described AgricTech Hackathon as a unique platform established to bring together talented minds, foster innovation and develop practical solutions to address critical challenges faced by Nasarawa's agricultural industry.
Those who received the team together with the vice-chancellor included Dr. Abdullahi Ibrahim Jaji, the Deputy Dean of Faculty of Agriculture, Head of Resource Mobilisation, Mrs Ayuba Joyce Awazi, and Alumni Relations Officer, Abdullahi Abubakar Sadiq.
