The Governing Council of the Federal University Lokoja (FULokoja) in Kogi State has approved the dismissal of four lecturers on allegations of sexual harassment and examination misconduct. The council, led by Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, made the decision during its recent meeting in Lokoja, underscoring a commitment to upholding ethical standards within the university.
In a statement, the council commended the university’s management for adhering to due process in investigating the misconduct allegations. They emphasized that this action serves as a warning to others and reaffirmed their stance against any form of unethical behavior within the institution.
The council also urged the university to expedite reviews of other pending misconduct cases, particularly a prominent case within the Faculty of Science. The council called on staff and students to maintain professionalism and encouraged students to report any irregularities.
