Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) is set to embark on a groundbreaking partnership with Justrite Superstore, aiming to bolster the sales of the university's agricultural products and foster entrepreneurial education. This ambitious venture was discussed during a recent visit by the Justrite team to the office of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, on Tuesday, May 28, 2024.

During the meeting, Prof. Kehinde expressed gratitude for Justrite's interest in collaborating with FUNAAB and affirmed the university's eagerness to engage in such a partnership. He highlighted the superior quality of FUNAAB's agricultural products, which have gained commendable recognition but require increased production to cater to the growing demand.

Moreover, Prof. Kehinde stressed the significance of entrepreneurial education for FUNAAB's student community, comprising over 24,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students. He underscored the university's commitment to equipping students with diverse skills beyond their academic pursuits, citing the establishment of the Career Services and Linkages Unit (CSLU) as a testament to this dedication.

The Vice-Chancellor proposed the possibility of establishing a Justrite branch on the FUNAAB campus, which could serve the needs of the university's sizable population. He emphasized the pivotal role of such a collaboration in human capital development and community engagement.

In response, Dr. Ayodele Aderinwale, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Justrite Limited, echoed Prof. Kehinde's sentiments, expressing enthusiasm about the potential collaboration. He highlighted areas of synergy between Justrite and FUNAAB, particularly in the production of agricultural goods such as odourless cassava flour, cashew nuts, palm wine, and sustainable energy management systems.

The visit also included a comprehensive tour of various facilities on the FUNAAB campus, including the Cashew Processing Unit, Odourless Fufu Unit, Palm Oil Processing Unit, and the 3MW Solar Project Site.

Key figures present at the meeting included Acting Registrar, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Dawodu; Principal Assistant Registrar, Mrs. Joke Oguntayo; Head of Strategy & Growth at Justrite Limited, Mr. Sinan Soysal, and the Legal Adviser, Mrs. Oluwayemisi Daramola.

This potential collaboration between FUNAAB and Justrite holds promise for advancing agricultural production, promoting entrepreneurship, and fostering community development.
