FUNAAB COLFHEC Celebrates Former Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Oyewole, at 70

The College of Food Science and Human Ecology (COLFHEC), Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, celebrated former Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olusola Bandele Oyewole, on the occasion of his 70th birthday and retirement from active service.

The College of Food Science and Human Ecology (COLFHEC), Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, celebrated former Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olusola Bandele Oyewole, on the occasion of his 70th birthday and retirement from active service.

The event, held at the Green Chamber, drew dignitaries, colleagues, staff, and family members, who joined in offering prayers for Prof. Oyewole.

Dean of COLFHEC, Prof. Adebukunola Omemu, described him as both a father and leader, while colleagues commended his humility, mentorship, and significant contributions to global academia.

In his response, Prof. Oyewole expressed gratitude to God, his family, and the FUNAAB community. He urged colleagues to “live with your values and never give up.”

Later, a Special Senate Session was convened in his honour, during which the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, presented him with gifts on behalf of the University.
