FUNAAB Inducts 41 New Veterinary Doctors

The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), in collaboration with the Veterinary Council of Nigeria (VCN), has inducted 41 new graduates as Veterinary Doctors.

The ceremony, held on October 17, 2025, marked the 17th Induction and Oath-Taking Ceremony of the College of Veterinary Medicine.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Olukayode Akinyemi, congratulated the newly inducted doctors, emphasizing the importance of upholding the values of integrity, innovation, and service to humanity. He highlighted the university's commitment to the continued growth of the College of Veterinary Medicine, citing its indispensable role in safeguarding animal health, ensuring food safety, and driving national development.

The College of Veterinary Medicine has retained its position as the number one institution in Sub-Saharan Africa and Nigeria in the field of Veterinary Science for the second consecutive year in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings.

The ceremony included the presentation of awards to exceptional graduates, with Dr. Oluwafunmilayo Opeyemi Esther emerging as the Overall Best Graduating Student.

The Dean, College of Veterinary Medicine, Prof. Olusola Ajayi, commended the University Management and VCN for their consistent support, urging the newly inducted doctors to remain thoughtful and compassionate in their practice.
