FUNAAB Pro-Chancellor Lays Foundation for Landmark Multi-Storey Administrative Complex
The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), HRM Oba Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi, Odundun IV, Asoludero, the Aragbiji of Iragbiji Land, has officially laid the foundation for a landmark multi-storey Administrative Complex on the University campus, marking a significant milestone in its infrastructural development drive.
The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), HRM Oba Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi, Odundun IV, Asoludero, the Aragbiji of Iragbiji Land, has officially laid the foundation for a landmark multi-storey Administrative Complex on the University campus, marking a significant milestone in its infrastructural development drive.

The foundation-laying ceremony for the 68-room administrative building took place on January 31, 2026, with the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, and other principal officers of the University in attendance.
Upon completion, the multi-storey complex is expected to become one of the tallest and most iconic structures on campus, centralising key administrative operations while providing a modern, efficient, and accessible workspace for staff. The building will feature an elevator to enhance inclusivity and ease of movement.
Addressing the gathering during the sod-turning ceremony, the Pro-Chancellor commended the University Management for its prudent financial management and effective project supervision, which he said have contributed to consistent infrastructural growth across the campus. He stressed the importance of quality assurance and timely delivery, urging the contractor to adhere strictly to approved specifications, use original materials, and complete the project within the stipulated timeframe. He added that the Governing Council would conduct a progress inspection in March.
During the visit, the Pro-Chancellor, alongside the Vice-Chancellor, also inspected the University’s unused swimming pool, constructed in 2010, urging management to prioritise its rehabilitation for staff recreational use. The proposed site for residential quarters for Governing Council members was also reviewed.

The event was attended by top University officials, including the Registrar, Dr. Titus Adeniyi; the Bursar, Mr. Olukayode Osinuga; and the Director of the Directorate of Physical Planning, Engr. Kehinde Bamisile, among others.
