FUNAAB Vice-Chancellor Engages Chinese High-Tech Industrial Leaders at Lagos Symposium

The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, participated in a high-level symposium on March 24, 2025, at the Lagos Continental Hotel, engaging with top entrepreneurial representatives from China’s leading high-tech industrial parks.
The symposium, held at the Soul Lounge of the prestigious five-star hotel, served as a platform for collaboration between key stakeholders from the Zhongguancun Science Park, InforValley Industry-Education Integration Technology, the Ogun Guangdong Free Trade Zone, and the China-Nigeria Industry Education Consortium. The event attracted distinguished diplomats from the Chinese Consulate in Lagos and representatives from Nigerian industries spanning manufacturing, renewable energy, finance, agriculture, and the digital economy. Additionally, trade associations, technology enterprises, higher education institutions, and vocational training centers participated in the discussions.
A major highlight of the event was the promotion of the Ogun Guangdong Free Trade Zone’s strategic advantages, alongside the introduction of initiatives under the China-Nigeria Industry-Education Alliance aimed at advancing vocational education and Chinese language training. These discussions underscored the growing importance of industrial and technological partnerships between Nigeria and China.
Representing the Vice-Chancellor at the event was the Head of the Department of Animal Production and Health (APH), Prof. Lawrence Egbeyale, who reaffirmed FUNAAB’s commitment to strengthening international collaborations that foster agricultural innovation, digital transformation, and industrial development.
