FUOYE Debuts in The World University Rankings 2025, Secures 12th Position Among Nigerian Institutions

The Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has made a significant mark by debuting in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings (WUR) 2025, securing the 12th position among 21 Nigerian institutions.

The Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has achieved a significant milestone by debuting in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings (WUR) 2025. The university secured the 12th position out of 21 qualified institutions in Nigeria, showcasing its commitment to academic excellence among over 267 institutions worldwide. Covenant University topped the Nigerian rankings, followed by Ahmadu Bello University in second place and Landmark University in third.

Dr. OS Ayanda, the Acting Director of Innovation and Digital Technology, attributed this achievement to the visionary leadership of Prof. Abayomi S. Fasina. He highlighted that this ranking marks FUOYE's first participation in the THE WUR category, with the university's previous ranking in June linked to the SDGs 2024 Impact Ranking of Universities. “We are thrilled that FUOYE has excelled in its international outlook, showcasing the university's commitment to research, innovation, and global collaboration,” he stated.

In response to this achievement, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Abayomi Fasina encouraged staff to continue publishing in reputable indexed journals and to adopt proactive strategies that would enhance the university's global standing. He emphasized that recognition by THE reinforces FUOYE's aspiration to be a leading institution not only in Nigeria but across the globe.
