Dr Robert Awoyemi assumes duty as Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) Liberian with meetings and briefing with his predecessor, the Acting Librarian, Dr. Adenike Abiolu and other members of staff in the library.

The recently appointed Librarian of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Dr. Robert Akinade Awoyemi has formally assumed duty.

Dr Awoyemi in a brief chat with the University media team said his first day in office was eventful with meetings and briefing with his predecessor, the Acting Librarian, Dr. Adenike Abiolu and other members of staff in the library. He added that he was warmly received and feels at home.

Dr Awoyemi, the 6th substantive University Librarian, who was in the company of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Adenike Oladiji , Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic , Professor Taiwo Amos and Dr. Abiolu on a tour of the facilities in the library described the VC and Dr Abiolu as amiable and motherly. 

He said his focus will be in human capital development because librarianship is no longer static, but with lots of innovation with new things in the world of information science. He cited Artificial Intelligence and Robotics as new development in the world. He promised to improve networking driven by ICT to drive an inclusive library service delivery.
