FUTA Physics Alumni Donate Smart TVs and Solar Components to Enhance Teaching

The Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) received a significant boost to its teaching resources with the donation of two 65-inch smart televisions and solar components from the 1997 Set Alumni of the Department of Physics.

The donation, aimed at enhancing teaching and learning, was presented by Professor Joseph Ojo, a representative of the 1997 Set and a professor in the department. Professor Ojo highlighted that the alumni’s passion for academic excellence and seamless teaching motivated the contribution. He emphasized that this gesture was their way of giving back to the department that had trained numerous successful professionals across various fields.
The 5-million-naira project marks a transition from traditional projectors to more modern teaching aids. Professor Ojo particularly noted the benefits of solar-powered systems, which informed the choice of smart televisions, ensuring a 24-hour digital learning experience for both staff and students.
Professor Emmanuel Ogolo, Head of the Department, corroborated the significance of the donation, stating that the smart televisions will enhance lecture delivery and provide students with high-quality visual aids and interactive learning opportunities.

Vice Chancellor, Professor Adenike Oladiji, expressed profound gratitude to the donors, praying for continued provision and urging the end-users to handle the donated items with care and make full use of them for their intended purposes.
