In a bid to revolutionize campus safety and foster a conducive learning environment, students at the Computer Engineering Department of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), have unveiled an innovative smoke and alcohol detection device.
In a remarkable display of innovation and dedication to campus safety, students at the Computer Engineering Department of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), have introduced a groundbreaking smoke and alcohol detection device. Spearheaded by their lecturer, the students developed a sophisticated microcontroller-based system as part of their embedded systems lecture (CPE509).
Expressing his enthusiasm for the project, the lecturer shared, "Excited to wrap up our embedded systems lecture at FUTA's Computer Engineering Department! My students have developed a microcontroller-based system aimed at monitoring illegal smoking and drinking activities on campus."
The innovative device is designed to detect and monitor instances of illicit smoking and drinking, providing real-time data to the law enforcement department. By leveraging advanced technology, the device aims to promote a safer university environment and uphold the quality of education at FUTA.
