FUTA's Department of Physics Receives N9 Million State-of-the-Art Laboratory Donation from TME Africa
The Department of Physics at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) has recently been the recipient of a generous donation: a cutting-edge laboratory valued at over N9 million. The newly equipped laboratory boasts an impressive array of tools and equipment, including digital multimeters, soldering workstations, laptops, desktop computers, various electronic components, and 3D printers. During the official commissioning of the laboratory, Professor Adenike Oladiji, Vice Chancellor of FUTA, expressed her appreciation for this remarkable initiative.
The Department of Physics at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) has recently been the recipient of a generous donation: a cutting-edge laboratory valued at over N9 million.
The Transfer Multisort Electronics SP (TME), based in Poland, facilitated this donation through its Educational Africa Initiative. The initiative, spearheaded by FUTA alumni Moses Ogunranti and Oluwasegun Kolawole, aims to enhance technological education and research across the African continent.

The newly equipped laboratory boasts an impressive array of tools and equipment, including digital multimeters, soldering workstations, laptops, desktop computers, various electronic components, and 3D printers. These resources will empower students to engage in hands-on projects and develop prototypes that address real-world challenges.
Mr. Oluwasegun Kolawole, a Computer Science graduate from FUTA and one of the facilitators of the donation, emphasized the importance of knowledge transfer in emerging fields such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Robotics, and hardware technology. TME Africa’s vision is to bridge the technology gap by partnering with university laboratories in regions with limited access to cutting-edge initiatives.

During the official commissioning of the laboratory, Professor Adenike Oladiji, Vice Chancellor of FUTA, expressed her appreciation for this remarkable initiative. From crisis management to web ranking and academic excellence, the department has consistently excelled.
Professor Oladiji extended her gratitude to TME Poland for entrusting FUTA with this state-of-the-art facility. She assured stakeholders that the laboratory would be put to optimal use, benefiting both teaching and research. Additionally, she commended Professor Emmanuel Ogolo, the outgoing Head of the Physics Department, for his instrumental role in the successful deployment of the new facility.
