FUTES-Iyin and NIPOST Partner to Bridge Postal Service Gap in Iyin-Ekiti

The rapid growth and institutional capacity of the Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences, Iyin-Ekiti (FUTES-IYIN), continue to attract strategic partnerships, this time, with the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) moving to establish a presence in the University community.

During a courtesy visit by the leadership of NIPOST, Ekiti State Chapter, led by the State Director 

Mr. Adebayo Adeniyi, discussions focused on the establishment of functional postal services to enhance communication, logistics, and administrative efficiency within the University and its host community.

Impressed by the pace of development, Mr. Adeniyi noted that FUTES rapid growth in the last one year of its establishment reflects not just vision, but visible and measurable execution.

As part of its commitment, NIPOST disclosed plans to deploy personnel to Iyin-Ekiti to kickstart operations, with the University management approving a temporary office, pending the provision of a more suitable space, ensuring that both the University and the community begin to benefit from structured and reliable postal services.

In his response, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Gbenga Aribisala, described the proposed partnership as a critical step in strengthening the institutional framework of the University.

According to him, a functional postal system is a key component of any structured institution, noting that even at its take-off stage, FUTES is deliberate about building systems that will stand the test of time.

He further stressed that the initiative would not only serve the University but also benefit the host community, with plans for a more permanent structure as the institution transitions to its permanent site. 

The engagement, facilitated by the Director, FUTES Directorate of Advancement and Linkages, Prof. John Famoriji, marks yet another milestone in the institution’s steady growth, as it continues to attract partnerships that enhance its structure, services, and overall operational efficiency.
