The Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences, Iyin-Ekiti has announced that its first semester examinations for the 2025/2026 academic session will commence on Monday, April 13, 2026.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Gbenga Aribisala, disclosed this during the institution’s April monthly prayer session held on campus, where he also outlined key academic and developmental updates.

Speaking at the event themed “Glorious God,” Prof. Aribisala reflected on the university’s progress over the past year, noting that the institution has overcome early challenges to achieve steady growth.

He attributed the progress to collective effort and faith, emphasizing that the monthly prayer gathering remains a longstanding tradition anchored on gratitude and reliance on divine guidance.

On academic readiness, the Vice-Chancellor confirmed that the current week has been designated for revision ahead of the examinations, after which students will proceed on a two-week break. He stressed that all academic staff are expected to have completed their course outlines and provided necessary materials to ensure students are adequately prepared.

The university leadership also reiterated its strict stance on discipline and academic standards, warning against lapses from both staff and students.

Addressing infrastructure development, Prof. Aribisala acknowledged the support of Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, Senate Leader, for his role in facilitating key projects, including land clearing and mapping of the permanent site, fencing of the proposed College of Medicine, and efforts to attract private sector investment for student accommodation.

As part of efforts to promote holistic education, the Vice-Chancellor announced plans to introduce structured sporting activities in the second semester. He revealed that a professional coach has been engaged to prepare students for participation in local and national competitions, including the Nigerian University Games.

He also cautioned students against operating unauthorized social media accounts in the name of the institution, warning that such actions could misrepresent the university and harm its public image.
