GOUNI to Host International Conference on Inclusive Education and Disability Communication

Godfrey Okoye University (GOUNI) will host an International Conference on Inclusive Education and Disability Communication on January 22, 2026, under the auspices of the Sapphire Initiative for Special Needs and Disability, in collaboration with the Department of Mass Communication and the Faculty of Education.

The conference, themed “Voices for Inclusion: Communication and Education Pathways for Learners with Special Needs in Nigeria,” seeks to create a platform for scholars, practitioners, researchers, students, and stakeholders to explore innovative strategies, share best practices, and strengthen policies that ensure equitable educational opportunities for all learners, in line with Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4).

Participants will engage in discussions addressing the challenges and opportunities in communication and education for learners with special needs, while amplifying voices that are often underrepresented in mainstream education.

The event will take place at the Peter Mbah Auditorium, Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu, providing an interactive forum for educators, advocates, and professionals from across Nigeria and beyond to collaborate on building inclusive educational pathways.
