Governor Kabir-Yusuf Reopens Kwankwaso’s Informatics Institute Shut Down by Ganduje

Governor Abba Kabir-Yusuf has reopened the Informatics Institute in Kura, Kano, which was previously shut down by former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje. During a ceremony where 250 new students received their admission letters, Kabir-Yusuf highlighted the institute's role in training youths in information technology and supporting the state's digital economy.

 Governor Abba Kabir-Yusuf has reopened the Informatics Institute, Kura, which was initially shut down by the previous administration of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje. The announcement was made during the formal presentation of admission letters to 250 new students on Thursday in Kura.

The institute, established 12 years ago by former Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, was designed to train youths in information technology and provide them with the necessary skills to meet the demands of modern communication technology. Kabir-Yusuf emphasized the importance of education and digital skills development in Kano, stating that the institute will commence academic activities immediately.

“The institute has significantly advanced information technology in the northern region, and its graduates have made notable achievements in their careers, with many employed in various sectors both within and outside Kano State,” said the governor. He added that reopening the institute aligns with his administration's vision for a digital economy in Kano.

Governor Kabir-Yusuf reiterated his commitment to reopening all educational institutions closed by the previous administration and pledged continued support for the institute to ensure its sustainable development.
