Greenwich Foundation Renovates Ransome Kuti Grammar School in Lagos
The Greenwich Foundation has completed renovations at Ransome Kuti Grammar School in Yaba, Lagos, enhancing the school’s educational infrastructure.
The Greenwich Foundation has successfully completed renovations at Ransome Kuti Grammar School in Yaba, Lagos, reinforcing its commitment to enhancing educational infrastructure as part of its corporate social responsibility initiatives.
Erelu Adebayo, Chairman of the Greenwich Foundation, highlighted the school's significance within the community during the unveiling of the newly renovated facilities. She stated, “On behalf of the Greenwich Foundation, it is my honour to unveil the newly renovated facilities, which include the painting of all classrooms, replacement of ceiling fans and lighting, renovation of the food shed, interlocking of the entire school’s backyard, and painting of the exteriors of both the Junior and Senior Secondary schools, among others.”
The foundation acknowledged the support from the Lagos State Government and various partners, including Greenwich Merchant Bank, Greenwich Registrars & Data Solutions Ltd, and Greenwich Trustees Ltd. Adebayo emphasized the importance of collaboration with the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education to ensure every child has access to quality education.
Yewande Akomolede, Programme Coordinator of the Greenwich Foundation, shared that the renovation project began last year with the reconstruction of 66 toilets for the Junior and Senior Secondary schools. “We recognize that providing clean and functional restrooms is essential for the well-being and comfort of our students while they get educated,” she remarked.
Yusuf Ajoke, the Tutor General (Permanent Secretary) of Lagos State, commended the Greenwich Foundation for its efforts in adopting and upgrading the school’s facilities. He noted that the renovations would significantly enhance the quality of learning outcomes for students at Ransome Kuti Grammar School.
The initiatives by the Greenwich Foundation not only demonstrate a commitment to educational advancement but also reflect a broader strategy to improve the learning environment for students in Lagos.
