Gunmen stormed Ajadeh Event Centre in Iperu Remo along Sagamu road in Ogun State last Friday night, resulting in the tragic death of Babcock University lecturer, Yinka Olowojobi. Two others were abducted during the invasion.

The assailants, numbering about eight and clad in black, reportedly opened fire indiscriminately at the event centre's lounge where Olowojobi and the other victims, identified as Dare and an unnamed individual, were relaxing. Eyewitnesses recounted the gunmen emerging suddenly and beginning to shoot, with Olowojobi tragically getting shot in the chest as he resisted going with them.
In a swift response to the incident, the Ogun State Police Command has taken action, arresting one Awada Ishaya from Plateau State as a suspect in the crime. Ishaya, who had been employed just two weeks prior as a security guard for the event centre, is currently undergoing interrogation. Omolola Odutola, the Spokesperson of the Ogun State Police Command, confirmed the incident, stating, "Efforts are underway to apprehend the culprits and rescue the kidnapped victims. Further updates will be provided as the situation develops."
