The Management of Heartland Alliance LTD/GTE(HALG) led by its’ Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Ochonye Bartholomew, paid a courtesy visit to the Management of University of Benin Teaching Hospital recently to seek new area of collaboration.

The Management of Heartland Alliance LTD/GTE(HALG) led by its’ Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Ochonye Bartholomew, paid a courtesy visit to the Management of University of Benin Teaching Hospital recently to seek new area of collaboration, Myschoolnews report.

 

In his welcome address, Dr. Ochonye appreciated the Management for the partnership they have had over the years which has made Edo State the best performing State in the management of HIV and Tuberculosis.

 

The Project CEO pointed out the need to bring in more Lab Scientists to help in a quick turnaround of the process. He also informed management of a mobile digital X-ray machine that would also enhance diagnosis.

He heartily appreciated Management for making UBTH the number One Facility to reduce HIV to the barest minimum in Nigeria.

 

Speaking on behalf of the Chief Medical Director, the Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee, Prof. Stanley Okugbo, stated that the UBTH management is ready to collaborate with Heartland Alliance on the treatment of HIV and Tuberculosis as it is for the good of the patients in particular and for the people of Edo State at large.

He emphasized that the UBTH management will do all it takes to ensure that Edo State is not tagged an  "HIV Endemic State". He assured that there will be an improvement in the lab as it will be run like every other lab with more personnel. 

 

Areas of collaboration discussed were areas of Infrastructure and manpower.

An highlight of the visit was the presentation of gifts to the CEO, Heartland Alliance and his team by the CMAC of the hospital, Prof Stanley Okugbo.
